To address the funding delay, the Choctaw Nation launched a temporary food assistance program. This initiative allows eligible tribal members and guardians of tribal member children across the nation to apply for a one-time $150 food assistance grant. The application process, accessible through the Chata Achvffa member services portal on the CNO website, remains open until November 14.
Upon approval, recipients will receive an Electronic Benefits Transfer (EBT) card, providing them with the means to purchase essential food items. To date, the program has received over 6,700 applications and distributed $1.8 million in assistance, demonstrating the Choctaw Nation's commitment to supporting its members.
