A bold move has been made by the Eagles, as they announce a change in their offensive strategy. This decision, announced by Head Coach Nick Sirianni, has sparked curiosity and debate among fans and analysts alike.
Sirianni, in a statement, emphasized the difficulty of the choice, praising Kevin Patullo, the former offensive coordinator, for his invaluable contributions to the team's success over the past five years. He highlighted Patullo's leadership and impact, both on and off the field.

Patullo's journey with the Eagles began in 2021, initially as the passing game coordinator. He was promoted to associate head coach in 2023 and then to offensive coordinator after the Eagles' Super Bowl LIX victory over the Kansas City Chiefs in 2024.
Under Patullo's guidance, the 2025 season saw the Eagles achieve remarkable feats. They boasted the best red zone offense in their history, with a TD success rate of an impressive 70.5 percent. This placed them among an elite group of just four teams since 2021 with a 70 percent or higher success rate in the red zone.
The Eagles also achieved a unique offensive balance, becoming only the fifth team in NFL history to have two 1,000-yard receivers (A.J. Brown and DeVonta Smith) and a tight end with double-digit touchdown receptions (Dallas Goedert).
Additionally, the team's turnover rate was among the lowest in the league, with only 15 turnovers, the fewest since 1990 when they had just 13. Running back Saquon Barkley further solidified the team's success, becoming the first Eagle to rush for over 1,000 yards in consecutive seasons since LeSean McCoy in 2013-14.
The wide receiver duo of Brown and Smith also made history, becoming the only pair in Eagles history to each surpass 1,000 yards in the same season, achieving this feat three times (2022, '23, and '25). Tight end Dallas Goedert set a franchise record with 11 receiving touchdowns in a single season.
