A heated political battle is unfolding in Bihar, with Prime Minister Narendra Modi taking aim at the Opposition's tactics. In a series of campaign rallies, PM Modi accused the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) of strong-arming the Congress into accepting Tejashwi Yadav as their chief ministerial candidate.
"The RJD played hardball, threatening Congress with a country-made gun to their head. It's a tactic straight out of their jungle raj playbook. These elements will never bring progress to Bihar," PM Modi declared during his rally in Bhojpur.
But here's where it gets controversial... PM Modi further alleged that the RJD's "hooliganism" and "strong-arm politics" are a reflection of their old governance style. He claimed that the alliance partners are divided and will turn on each other post-elections.
"The NDA stands for unity and development, while the Opposition symbolizes the jungle raj era marked by corruption and strong-arm tactics," PM Modi emphasized.
He accused the RJD-Congress combine of trying to "erase Bihar's identity" by supporting infiltrators. In Nawada, PM Modi promised an additional Rs 3,000 to farmers under the state's 'Kapurgari Thakur Kisan Samman Nidhi' scheme, on top of the existing Rs 6,000 under the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi.
"I, Modi, worship those whom no one else cares about. My government ensures the full amount reaches farmers without any cuts," he said, taking a dig at the Congress' past corruption scandals.
PM Modi urged voters to reject the jungle raj era, promising an upright and foresighted NDA government committed to developing Bihar as part of a Viksit Bharat. He also highlighted Operation Sindoor, a successful anti-terrorist operation, and criticized the Congress for their lack of support during such missions.
The stage is set for Bihar's 243 assembly seats to be decided in two phases on November 6 and 11, with the results to be announced on November 14.
And this is the part most people miss... the real test of democracy lies not just in the election results, but in the ability of leaders to work together post-election, especially when alliances are formed. Will the NDA and Opposition alliances be able to put aside their differences and work for the betterment of Bihar? Only time will tell.
